Under Construction

Dear visitor,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the web page of the Mission of Georgia to the European Union and the Embassy of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. This web page could be your starting point for exploring Georgia - a beautiful country, rich in diversity, culture and history and the scene of dramatic political transformations over the past two decades.

At the Mission of Georgia, we are determined to bring our country closer to the EU. The people of Georgia have made an unequivocal choice for the European and Euro-Atlantic integrations
, the only path leading to prosperity, development and the consolidation of Georgian democracy.

Georgia has intensified cooperation with the EU over the last years—with concrete results to show
.  The greatest achievements are the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, which entered into force in July 2016 and visa free travel to the Schengen area since 28 March 2017.

“Association Agreement” (AA), along with the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) Agreement, builds a foundation for far-reaching Georgian political and economic integration with the EU. The ambition for Georgia includes ever increasing democracy and the rule of law, human rights, good governance and economic development.

We are grateful to our European friends for their support in our efforts to restore sovereignty and to reach out to the population in the occupied territories. The EU plays crucial role in providing security and stability in Georgia as well as in the region as a whole. In turn, Georgia is keen to make its contribution to international peace and security and to take part in EU-led crisis management missions within the framework of the European Security and Defence Policy.

Georgia is also committed to deepening bilateral cooperation with the EU member states. This commitment is based on common interests and shared values. To this end, Embassy of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg plays an important role. Georgia has had a successful cooperation with these two founding nations of the EU, both in the bilateral and multilateral framework. I hope that this cooperation can be further intensified and that Georgia will be discovered by the wider public in Belgium and Luxembourg. Travel, cultural activities and academic exchanges are all important in forging ties, building friendships and sharing knowledge.

Embassy of Georgia is primarily at the service of Georgian citizens residing in Belgium and Luxembourg. However, the Consular Service also assists foreign citizens with visa information and travel advice. I hope you will find useful information on this web page, including with regard to consular services. Through this web page, I will keep you informed about upcoming events at the Embassy, about developments in Georgia and about our relations with European partners.
