Ambassador Vakhtang Makharoblishvili held a meeting with Director-General of the Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr Jeroen Cooreman

On July 13, 2022, the Head of the Mission of Georgia to the European Union, Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili held a meeting with the Director-General for Bilateral Affairs of Federal Public Service of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mr Jeroen Cooreman. 

The sides discussed the topics of bilateral relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium in various fields, and emphasized the necessity of deepening the cooperation between the two states. The issues of marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Belgium were highlighted. 

The discussion focused on the matters of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Particular emphasis was placed on Georgia’s European perspective and granting the candidate status to the country. The sides also discussed the topics of cooperation within the international organizations.

Jeroen Cooreman confirmed the firm support of Belgium to Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
