THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF GEORGIA, ILIA DARCHIASHVILI HAS MET WITH THE EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER FOR NEIGHBOURHOOD AND ENLARGEMENT, OLIVÉR VÁRHELYI
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili met with the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi.
The Minister thanked the European Commission for the enlargement report and today's decision, which is historic and marks a milestone in Georgia's integration with the European Union.
Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized the European Commission’s support for the progress that Georgia has made on the path of European integration, especially in terms of fulfilling the 12 recommendations.
The sides expressed their readiness to cooperate closely in the future towards the implementation of the European Commission’s recommendations. The Minister confirmed government’s commitment to continue its efforts to ensure that Georgia takes another decisive step and officially becomes a candidate for EU membership.
