On October 18, 2024, the Embassy of Georgia in the Kingdom of Belgium hosted a delegation of Georgian startups in Brussels. The visit was part of the EU-funded project "Strengthening the Partnership between Georgia and Belgium by Promoting the Temporary Mobility of Entrepreneurs (EMLINK)", implemented by the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
On October 18, 2024, Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of the Mission of Georgia to the European Union Vakhtang Makharoblishvili met with the Secretary General of the European Parliament, Mr. Alessandro Chiocchetti.
During his visit, Ambassador Makharoblishvili engaged in discussions with officials from both legislative and executive branches of Luxembourg. This included meetings with Mr. Gusty Graas and Mr. Guy Ardendt, who serve as the Chairs of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees of the Chamber of Deputies; as well as Ms. Angèle Da Cruz, the Director of the European Affairs and International Economic Relations Department at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, and Mr. Loris Nicoletti, the Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg.
H.E. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of the Georgian Mission to the EU, held meetings with Mr. Philippe Benoit, Director for East and Southeast Europe in the Central Asia Department, and Mr. Christophe de Bassompierre, Director for External Relations in the EU Department of the FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium.
On September 23-30, 2024, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of the Mission of Georgia to the European Union H.E. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili met with the Permanent Representative of Estonia to the EU H.E. Kyllike Sillaste-Elling, with the Permanent Representative of Belgium to the EU H.E. Willem van de Voorde, with the Permanent Representative of Austria to the EU H.E. Thomas Oberreiter and with the Permanent Representative of Spain to the EU H.E. Marcos Alonso Alonso.
On 10 July 2024, within the framework of the NATO Summit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade, and the Federal Cultural Institutions, Hadja Lahbib.
