Vakhtang Makharoblishvili met with the Deputy Secretary General of the European Commission Mr. John Watson
On February 13, 2024, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of the Mission of Georgia to the European Union, H.E. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, met with the Deputy Secretary General of the European Commission, Mr. John Watson.
At the meeting, Georgia’s EU accession process, Connectivity, the ongoing occupation of Georgia’s regions by Russia, and regional security challenges were discussed.
Ambassador of Georgia briefed the Deputy Secretary General about the implementation process of the nine steps defined by the European Commission and the future plans in this regard. Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of supporting Georgia’s gradual integration into the EU Single Market, as well as Georgia’s participation in EU Framework Programs.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue close cooperation.
