ILIA DARCHIASHVILI HAS MET WITH HIS COLLEAGUE FROM LUXEMBOURG

On 30 April, Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with Xavier Bettel, Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Discussions centered on the friendly and collaborative ties between Georgia and Luxembourg, highlighting that 2024 will mark three decades since they established diplomatic relations.
The ministers discussed Georgia's European integration, its pursuit of candidate status, and ongoing reform agendas. Ilia Darchiashvili stressed that Georgia prioritizes European and Euro-Atlantic integration in its foreign policy and expressed gratitude for Luxembourg's support.

He mentioned active engagement with EU institutions and member states for continued progress. Security challenges in the region, including the situation in Georgia's occupied territories, were also addressed. Darchiashvili thanked his counterpart for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and for Luxembourg's contribution to the EU observation mission.

The ministers reviewed the bilateral cooperation agenda, emphasizing positive trends and the importance of mutual support in various forums. They discussed potential expansion in economic, trade, investment, and tourism sectors.
