Ambassador Vakhtang Makharoblishvili paid a working visit to Luxembourg

On December 4, 2023, H.E. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of Georgian Mission to the EU paid a working visit to Luxembourg. In the framework of the visit, Ambassador met with Ms. Yasuko Muller, Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg and Ms. Véronique Dockendorf, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg.
 
During the visit, the main topic at the meeting was to inform the Luxembourgish side on the reforms that have been enacted and the efforts that Georgia has taken toward EU accession. Additionally, the Ambassador provided thorough updates on the implementation process of the European Commission’s 12 priorities and the progress achieved in this regard. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili reaffirmed the commitment of the Georgian side in taking all necessary actions to ensure that the European Council decides by the end of the year to grant Georgia EU membership candidate status, in line with the European Commission's positive recommendation.
 
The parties also discussed possible avenues for further enhancing Georgia-Luxembourg bilateral cooperation, including in light of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries the following year, as well as topics related to regional security. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili thanked the Luxembourgish side for its firm support on Georgia’s EU accession process.
