On January 13, 2022 Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of the Mission of Georgia to the EU Mr. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili met with the Director of the Directorate East and South East Europe and Central Asia of FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium Mr. Luc Liebaut.
The parties discussed bilateral, as well as multilateral relations between Georgia and Belgium and exchanged the views on the prospects of its further development. in adittion, the parties underlined the importance of the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations in 2022. Both sides expressed readiness to intensify bilateral political dialogue, including the exchange of the high and the highest-level visits.
Ambassador thanked his Belgian counterpart for the unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and underlined the need for the partners’ consolidated position and the importance of keeping the occupied territories of Georgia high on the international agenda.
At the end of the meeting, sides agreed to intensify the cooperation.
